Great food to reduce body weight

7 day detox- Need to try this-- Remember… the more soup you eat, the more weight you’ll lose, so don’t hold back! Day One: Any fruit, except bananas. Try and eat mostly watermelon and cantaloupe, since they’re the lowest in calories. Only eat soup and fruit today. Day Two: Only vegetables. Eat as many fresh, canned, or cooked veggies that you want. However, stay away from dry beans, peas, and corn. Try to eat mostly green leafy veggies. Eat the soup, as well. For dinner, reward yourself with a baked potato with butter. No fruit today. Day Three: Eat all the soup, fruits, and veggies that you want. Don’t have a baked potato. If you haven’t cheated at this point, you should find that you’ve lost 5-7 pounds. Day Four: Bananas and skim milk. Eat at least 3 bananas and drink as much milk as you can today, along with the soup. Day Five: You may have 10-20 oz of beef and a can of tomatoes. Eat the soup at least once today. Day Six: Eat as much beef and vegetables as you want today! No baked potato, though. Eat the soup at least once today. Day Seven: Brown rice, unsweetened juice, and veggies. Be sure to stuff yourself and eat the soup. Also, you can drink these at any point during the diet: WATER!!!! LOTS OF IT! Unsweetened juices Tea (herbal) Black coffee Cranberry juice Ingredients for the soup: 1-2 cans of stewed tomatoes 3 large green onions 1 large can of beef broth (no fat) 1 pckg Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup Mix 1 bunch of celery 2 cans green beans 2 lbs carrots 2 green peppers 10-20 oz of beef and a can of tomatoes. Team India did it for Sachin Tendulkar - 2011 World Cup Champion

After realising India's dream to lift its second World Cup trophy, an emotionally charged up Team India spoke their heart out after beating Sri Lanka here on Saturday. One thing that stayed common among every players' thoughts was that they wanted to win it for Sachin Tendulkar and for the country.
World Cup's leading wicket-taker with 21 wickets and the spearhead of India's bowling attack Zaheer Khan said the team "wanted it too badly."
"We wanted it too badly. I'm glad we achieved it. Obviously, it was for the special man here (Sachin Tendulkar) standing next to me. We're all very happy for him," said a beaming Zaheer, pulling Yuvraj Singh to his side. "And this man here (Yuvraj), I told him long time back when he was going through a rough phase that he's gonna win the Cup for us.

And the man to whom the team dedicated the cup was his humble-self, stating that it was a team effort.
"Thanks to our support staff. Everyone worked very hard, especially Mike Horn who joined us before the World Cup started. And also in the last couple of games worked on our mental side to deal with expectations and pressure. So I think that has really helped," said Tendulkar.
"Obviously the team stuck together through ups and downs; there were a few rough phases in the team. We proved most of the people wrong, who were doubting our ability," the master batsman added.
When quizzed about the evident self-belief in Team India, Tendulkar said it was "always there."
"It has always been there, a little more in the last two years when we have been consistent. It has been an honour to be part of this team. A special thanks to Gary and the whole staff. I think their contribution has been immense."
Virender Sehwag, who missed out in the final after a first-over dismissal while chasing 275 to win, said the team always dreamt of playing the final in Mumbai.
"We discussed one year before when we were playing in Dambulla. We discussed that and imagined we were playing the final of the World Cup in Mumbai, 2nd of April. We prepared well. Actually we discussed in the team meeting that we will play the final and we will win the final," said Sehwag.
Man of the Tournament Yuvraj Singh dedicated the award to his Guru ji and parents.
"I want do dedicate this award to my Guru Ji, Guru Ram Singh and Guru Ajit Singh; my mother; my parents, and our fans. Thank you very much. It won't we possible without their support."
On the pressure of chasing in a World Cup final, Yuvraj was quick to point out India's failure in Johannesburg eight years back.
"The last time we were in a World Cup final, we were chasing 358... Batting second is a lot of pressure. I think MS (Dhoni) and Gauti batted well... we batted like champions."
He also had a special world for Narendra Hirwani who has been helping him with his bowling.
"I have been working hard on my bowling. Narender Hirwani has been helping me a lot with my bowling and it has been coming nice and taking two or three wickets really helps the team."
An emotional Gautam Gambhir, who missed a World Cup century but made the most notable contribution of 97, said that the World Cup win is for Tendulkar.
"We wanted to win it for Sachin Tendulkar. This World Cup is for him. It's yet to sink in and I don't know when it will sink in," Gambhir said shortly after the match.
When asked about Yuvraj and Harbhajan Singh who were in tears, Gambhir said, "They have seen nightmare of 2007, so they know how it feels to win World Cup. This is a dream come true."
Virat Kohli, who carried Tendulkar on his shoulder during a lap of honour, said it was fitting to carry Sachin Tendulkar on their shoulders.
"Sachin Tendulkar has carried Indian cricket on his shoulders for 21 years. So it was fitting that we carried him on our shoulders after this win," said the promising youngster.
Harbhajan Singh, who shed tears after the historic win, said, "This means the World to me. This is for the people of our nation."
Last but not the least, India's captain cool MS Dhoni, who turned it around with a Man-of-the Match performance of 91 not out in 79 balls, was quick to point out the team's critics.
"A few decisions I have taken today, including why I brought in S Sreesanth instead of Ravichandran Ashwin and why I promoted myself in the batting order ahead of Yuvraj who has been in great form. It could have been that the decisions cost the match," he said at the post-match presentation after India beat Sri Lanka by six wickets to lift the trophy.
"We have been hearing a lot of things during this tournament and so it feels great to win the World Cup," he said.
"I always wanted to give chance to give chance to younger players by sending them up the order. Today, I thought I would take the responsibility myself. It was more like proving myself and not to others," he said.
"We spent the last 30-35 days together in the field and the dressing room thinking of this victory only and we have achieved that now," he added.

Radiation from airport scanners?

Airport scanners are an 'extremely low' source of radiation exposure that poses virtually no health risk, not even to frequent air travellers, say US researchers.

The study may help ease fears of uneasy travellers already spooked by reports of radiation leaking from the crippled nuclear plants in Japan.

"There is such a vast difference between super-low doses of radiation and the really high doses that happen if you are in the middle of a nuclear accident," says Dr Rebecca Smith-Bindman, a radiology professor at the University of California, San Francisco, whose study appears in the Archives of Internal Medicine.

"Because they are all called radiation, we are tempted to put them all in the same category. That is a mistake."

She says the nuclear situation in Japan has heightened fear about radiation, but she says a person would have to get more than 50 airport scans to get as much radiation exposure as one gets from a dental x-ray.

"When used properly, the doses from these machines are extremely low," says Smith-Bindman.

Some travellers and airline crews have expressed concerns about being repeatedly exposed to radiation from the body scanners, which the US Transportation Security Administration has deployed to detect banned items on passengers. There are plans to use the scanners in Australian airports.

Only one type of full-body airport scanner - the backscatter x-ray machine - expose individuals to ionising radiation such as that used in common medical x-rays.

Keep Your Kids 4 Simple Tips

Germ-Busters

When it comes to preventing colds and flu, few weapons are more effective than old-fashioned soap and water.

"The most important thing is washing your hands," says Dr. Jennifer Trachtenberg, a New York-based pediatrician and author of Good Kids, Bad Habits. "Most germs or viruses are communicated through the hands, especially in winter. You need to teach your children to wash not just after using the bathroom but also before eating and when they get home from school."

Studies show the type of soap kids use -- anti-bacterial or regular -- is less important than the amount of time they spend at the sink. “It’s the mechanical motion that's really important," Trachtenberg explains. "It's not enough to just blob soap on your hands and then rinse it off." She suggests singing a song with your kids while they wash: "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" or "The Alphabet Song" are good choices, because they take as long to sing as kids need to scrub.

If you can't get to a sink, hand sanitizers are OK as long as kids don't ingest them or lick their hands after using them, advises Dr. Jay Berkelhamer, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

An Ounce of Prevention

They might not thank you later, but drag your children in for their annual physicals and vaccinations, anyway.

"It's very important to go for preventative visits and checkups to make sure your kids are up to date with all of their shots," says Dr. Trachtenberg. Even diseases we thought were history can make a resurgence if kids don't get the vaccines they need. For example, "There's been a lot of whooping cough going around again, so we're reboostering adolescents," she says.

While you're at the doctor's office, don't forget to ask about flu shots: Catching the flu doesn't really help build your child's immune system, so the vaccine will spare you and your kids some distress over the winter months.

A Pound of Cure?

When the sniffles strike, your kids need plenty of rest, lots of fluids and even more patience than usual from the grownups who love them.

Antibiotics aren't effective against the viruses that cause colds and flus, so "there isn't a whole lot you can do," says Dr. Berkelhamer, "unless it's a bacterial infection that your doctor can diagnose." For normal coughs, colds, runny noses or fevers, "medications will not change the course of the illness," he adds.

Dr. Berkelhamer doesn't recommend over-the-counter cold medications for youngsters: "I don't think they do very much, and some of them make kids very irritable."

To prevent a relapse, keep kids home from school or daycare until they're ready. "One of the reasons children get sick is that other parents send their children to school when they haven't been adequately treated," says Dr. Trachtenberg. "Parents wonder why their children keep getting sick; but it's just that kids in their class keep going back too soon, and they spread the illness back around."

Your children's temperature should be normal, and they should have minimal or no secretions from the nose or mouth before they return to school. If the illness required antibiotics, they should not return to school until they've been on the antibiotics for at least 24 hours.

Set the Standard

Maintaining healthy habits should be a lifetime goal for the entire family. If your children see you taking care of yourself by exercising, eating well, getting enough rest and practicing proper hygiene, they'll follow your lead.

At the same time, try not to make your children afraid of getting sick -- it happens to all of us. The good news is, we get fewer viruses as we age. So when you're trying to soothe your sniffly child through a sleepless night, remember: That cold is helping him develop a healthy immune system.

Above all, sick kids are going to be cranky, but don't underestimate the value of a hug and a kind word. "Touch is so healing in its own right," says Dr. Schmitt. "You can also give verbal reassurance. Tell kids: 'You're sick today but you're going to get better soon, I'm here to take care of you.'"

Another black January 14 for Sabarimala pilgrims

The mishap at Pulmedu in Vandiperiyar in Kerala's remote Idukki district which claimed over 100 lives on Friday is the third and worst mishap involving the Sabarimala pilgrims on the 'Makarajyothi' day on January 14.

Lakhs of pilgrims converge at the holy shrine to watch the 'Makarajyothi', a bright flame that flickers three times on a remote hillside of Ponnambalamedu, every year and the number of devotees keeping growing each pilgrimage season.

On Jan 14, 1952, 66 Ayyappa pilgrims were burnt to death when two cracker sheds caught fire.

On the same day in 1999, 52 pilgrims were killed following a stampede while they were returning after witnessing the 'Makarajyothi' at Pampa.

WRAPUP 1-India to widen telco probe as top mogul backs govt

NEW DELHI, Dec 9 (Reuters) - India on Thursday widened a probe into the country's biggest corruption case to include decisions made during the main opposition party's rule, a move that may take steam out of a campaign against the government.

The probe into the 2008 grants of telecoms licences that the state auditor said lost India $39 billion in potential revenue will now examine licencing procedures when the main opposition was in power and which have been cited in court as a precedent.

The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has forced parliament shut, demanding the Congress-led government set up a parliamentary probe into the case, the largest of a raft of corruption cases that have emerged in recent months.

Telecoms Minister Kapil Sibal's decision to ask a retired judge to probe decisions from 2001 onwards, which would include those of the BJP during its rule until 2004, could put the party on the defensive and allay fears the political deadlock could spill over to the February session of parliament.

Andimuthu Raja, who resigned as telecoms minister in November after the report, and whose homes have been searched in the case, had defended himself saying he followed past norms and the Supreme Court had asked police working on the case to look back to 2001.

Singh and his government have been struggling to contain the damage from India's "season for scams" which includes a bribe-for-loans scandal which implicated state-run banks and sizeable private companies and, graft at the Commonwealth Games.

The cases have taken the sheen off India's image as an investment destination, and the parliamentary deadlock has delayed the passage of key reforms including a much awaited law for the easing of land acquisition for industry.

Investors have shrugged off widespread corruption as part of the risk of doing business in emerging markets, but remain wary of any regulatory changes and of decisions that could affect existing foreign investments, such as those made in telecoms firms being probed.

On Thursday, top Indian mogul Ratan Tata appeared to give some support to the government, citing telecoms policy "flip-flops" during the BJP's rule and terming the auditor's estimate of losses as "hypothetical."

"Whatever may be said, it must be recognised that the recent policy broke the powerful cartel which had been holding back competition and delaying implementation of policies not to their liking," Tata said in a letter released by his publicist.

4-Year-Old Boy Shoots Mother With Shotgun

A 23-year-old Kitsap woman was taken to the hospital yesterday with non-life-threatening injuries after her four-year-old son shot her in the side with a semiautomatic shotgun.

The woman told detectives that she didn't hear the boy loading the weapon because she had her back turned and was talking on the phone. She also said she had no idea how he got access to the shotgun. But she does know how he got the cartridge.

According to the Kitsap County police, the boy's father had given him the cartridge earlier after the child had shown an interest in firearms. (Well, duh.) Apparently the gift did not also include a stern warning about how he shouldn't use it to shoot his mother. Maybe his grandma can be the one to deliver that lesson.

Hair an indicator for heart attacks

High levels of the stress hormone cortisol in hair may be a strong predictor of heart attacks months in advance, said Canadian researchers in the journal Stress.

Issues such as jobs, marital or financial problems are linked to an increased risk for developing cardiovascular disease, including heart attacks.

But until now a biological marker was not available to measure chronic stress and so predict — several months in advance — who may be most at risk of a heart attack.

“Traditionally, cortisol has been measured in serum, urine, and saliva. All of these matrices measure cortisol levels in the last hours to days and, therefore, do not reflect the stress response over prolonged period of time,” said study authors Stan Van Uum and Gideon Koren of the University of Western Ontario.

But, cortisol is also captured in the hair shaft.

On average, hair grows one centimeter each month and so by examining a six-centimeter-long strand of hair, it is possible to determine stress levels over a longer period.

The researchers looked at hair samples from 56 men admitted for heart attacks to the Meir Medical Centre in Kfar-Saba, Israel and compared these to hair samples from 56 men hospitalized for non-cardiovascular health issues.

The heart attack patients were found to have higher cortisol levels in their hair.

And after accounting for known risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension, smoking and a family history of coronary artery disease, “hair cortisol content emerged as the strongest predictor of acute myocardial infarction,” the study concluded.

Surprising Meditation Experiences

Meditation serves as a foundation for changes. It prepares the mind for new experiences, because it removes negative thinking and other impurities.

Meditation has many benefits but there are some meditation experiences that are not widely known. Some of them are unusual, some exciting, some even scary. I think it is fair for you to know a different side of meditation which is not often discussed.

I can straight away say that despite strange meditation experiences it is worth practising meditation. Benefits outweigh the temporary discomfort to a high degree.

Different meditation experiences

When you start meditating you see only benefits. You notice that you become much more peaceful only after a couple of meditation practices. You become less reactive to negative incidents and your positivity rises to a high degree.

This is the stage that is exciting but most people fail to pass to the next stage because they fall back to their old habits and start taking shortcuts in meditation – they shorten meditation time, do not concentrate on their breathing or mantra and fail to allocate less noisy times for meditation.

Those that continue meditation (after two weeks or so) get to the next stage. They enter deeper meditation and start experiencing fourth dimension. This happens because they finally establish deeper connection with the source and the source shows itself through the person.

You start getting meaningful dreams that show you how you are doing on your path and what changes you need to make. Dreams can also show the glimpse of the future and different warnings.

You become much better at manifesting if your regularly meditate. Because your negative emotions, thinking and beliefs are gradually disappearing, your manifestations reach you faster and you get more synchronicities along the way.

Your eating habits change. You are likely to become vegetarian, then vegan, then go raw, if you continue meditating. Meat is out of the question for serious meditators because you start perceiving the meat of animals to be the same as the meat of humans.

You understand life better, you understand what pain animals feel and you certainly would not want to hurt some animal. It just feels so cruel when I see someone eating meat. By eating meat people are polluting their bodies with negative energy that comes from the animal that was slaughtered.

When you keep meditating, a specific energy starts concentrating in your root chakra (at the base of the spine). This energy is called Kundalini. The energy starts moving up until it reaches the crown chakra. This happens over a very long time. When it goes through your crown chakra (your head) you may become enlightened. Something to look forward to!

However, if Kundalini energy starts moving up too fast, you may experience very extreme discomfort that even lead some people to insanity. So it’s important not to mix meditation with other psychic experiments or anything of that nature. I will explain what to do if you awaken this energy too fast at the bottom of this article.

When you get into the deep meditation, it is easy to reach non-physical beings. If you want to communicate with your spirit guides (tried), your angels (did not try) or enlightened human beings that once lived on earth, you can do that. Of course, that comes with practice and willingness to establish such connection.

You get involuntary body movements. When your nervous system is being cleansed, you will get various contractions and spasms in different parts of your body.

That is all normal and do not get scared if that happens. I have experienced very slight movements of my fingers mostly, but I know some people experience severe movements of the whole body. It just depends how much junk you need to get out of your body.

Most people start meditation without knowing what their actual experiences will be like. They usually start meditating because they know that they can become more peaceful and less negative. But they often do not research meditation experiences fully, therefore they get scared when something unusual happens to them.

If you only meditate for the peace of mind and positivity, you cannot go far in meditation. Of course, elimination of negativity is taking place all the time during meditation, but the more you meditate, the deeper into meditation you get.

You cannot avoid experiencing fourth dimension and other meditation experiences if you keep meditating. It would be the same as driving to another city and expecting to see the views of your old city. It does not work this way.

However, if you feel that you move faster than you should, you can cut on meditation time and do spinal breathing before meditation as long as you feel that you are not ready to experience more. You can also do some grounding activities like watching movies, going for a walk or eating heavy food. Such activities will not let you progress faster than you can handle.

How to Make Your Breasts Beautiful with Exercises

Exercise 1 for Beautiful Breasts. Pressure

Applying pressure is the simplest exercise for your bust. Stand tall facing the wall, lean against it with your hands. Press against the wall as hard as you can, as if you want to move it, keep on pushing for 10 seconds. Relax, shake your hands. Do a set of 10 repetitions.

Exercise 2 for Beautiful Breasts. Elbows Touch

Stand tall, bend your hands slightly in the elbows, keep your hands on your hips. Try to touch your elbows one to the other behind your back, do not do it in jerks, but rather do it slowly, stretching the muscles for 10-15 seconds. Repeat 8 times.
Exercise 3 for Beautiful Breasts. Palms Pressing

The next exercise for beautiful breasts is as follows: join your palms in front of the chest and press them hard against each other for 3-5 seconds. Repeat 8-10 times.
Exercise 4 for Beautiful Breasts. “Dry” Breast-Stroke

If you can not go to a swimming pool, do this effective exercise to improve the tone of your breast. Stand tall, nestle up to the wall, squeeze the pectoral muscles and make movements, as if you are breast-stroke swimming. Do a hundred slow strokes, keep your pectoral muscles tense all the time.

Finishing Exercises for Beautiful Breasts with Posture Exercise

The best way to finish this set of exercises for your bust is to do an exercise which targets your posture. Take a thick book, put it on your head and walk around the house for a few minutes like that, trying to keep it on your crown. This will help you relax the muscles effectively and give them the needed working tone. If you can not walk like that, at least try standing with the book on your head. You can hold on to a chair or the wall, but do not lean against the wall.

World Heart Day 2010 | 10 simple tips | Wallpapers

World Heart Day was created to inform people around the globe that heart disease and stroke are the world's leading cause of death, claiming 17.1 million lives each year.
On World Heart Day, we call on everyone to take responsibility for their own heart health and say "I work with Heart". By outlining 10 simple steps that can be taken and encouraging people to start by taking at least one; healthy diets, physical activity and saying no to tobacco is advocated.

10 simple tips

1. Healthy food intake - Eat at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day and avoid saturated fat. Beware of processed foods, which often contain high levels of salt.

2. Get active & take heart - Even 30 minutes of activity can help to prevent heart attacks and strokes and your work will benefit too.

3. Say no to tobacco - Your risk of coronary heart disease will be halved within a year and will return to a normal level over time.

4. Maintain a healthy weight - Reducing weight, especially together with lower ed salt intake, leads to lower blood pressure. High blood pressure is the number one risk factor for stroke and a major factor for approximately half of all heart disease and stroke.

5. Know your numbers - Visit a healthcare professional who can measure your blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels, together with waist-to-hip ratio and body mass index (bmi). Once you know your overall risk, you can develop a specific plan of action to improve your heart health.

6. Limit your alcohol intake - Restrict the amount of alcoholic drinks that you consume. Excessive alcohol intake can cause your blood pressure to rise and your weight to increase.

7. Insist on a smoke-free environment
Demand a tobacco ban - ensure your workplace is 100% smoke-free
Support the adoption of smoking - cessation services encourage your employer to provide help to those wanting to quit tobacco

8. Bring exercise to the workplace - Include physical activity in your working schedule - cycle to work if this is possible, take the stairs, exercise or go for a walk during your lunch breaks, and encourage others to do so too

9. Choose healthy food options- Ask for healthy food at your work canteen, or find nearby cafes or restaurants that serve healthy meals
